VITAMIN A 200,000 IU
Contents: Retinol palmitate
Indications: Treatment of vit A deficiency.
Dosage: Treatment Adult & childn ≥1 yr 1 cap/day. Prevention High-risk preschool childn 12-83 mth 1 cap/day. Postpartum & lactating women w/in 1 mth after delivery 1 cap/day.
Administration: Should be taken with food.
Special Precautions: Acute toxicity in childn 1-6 yr (>300,000 IU/dose); chronic toxicity in infant & childn (>25,000 IU daily for >3-6 mth). Women of childbearing potential should not be given >100,000 IU/dose. Pregnancy (especially 1st trimester).
Adverse Drug Reation: Hypervitaminosis A (fatigue, irritability, anorexia, wt loss, vomiting & other GI disturbances, low-grade fever, polyuria, hepatosplenomegaly & yellow pigmentation).
