KHRIZGESIC
Contents: Each tablet contains: Paracetamol 500mg.
Indications: Relief of mild to moderately severe pain of musculoskeletal origin eg muscle pain, arthritis, rheumatism, sprain, strain, bursitis, tendonitis, backache, stiff neck, tension headache, dysmenorrhea, toothache, pain after tooth extraction & minor surgical operations, reduction of fever.
Dosage: Adult & childn (≥12 yr) 1 tab 6 hrly.
Administratis: Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to paracetamol, ibuprofen, aspirin or any other NSAIDs. Bronchospasm, peptic ulcer, recent GI bleeding, renal failure, HTN.
Special Precautions: Patient with G6PD defieciency; chronic alcoholism or manlnutrition. Dehydrated patient; severe hypovolaemia (IV). Renal and hepatic impairment. Neonates and children. Pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Drug Reactions: Rarely, anaemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, Tachycardia, Nausea, vomiting; redness of rectal mucus membranes (rectal supp), fatigue, peripheral oedema, Muscle spasm, trismus, Insomina, anxiety..
Drug Interactions:Reduced rate of absorption with colestyramine. Increased absorption with metoclopramide and domperidone. Prolonged use of paracetamol may enhance the anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other coumarins, thus increasing the risk of bleeding. Concomitant use of other potentially hepatotoxic drugs or drugs that induce liver microsomal enzymes (e.g. barbiturates) may increase the risk of paracetamol toxicity. Reduced clearance with probenecid and isoniazid. Elimination half-life may be prolonged with salicylamide. Reduced bioavailability and efficacy of lamotrigine. May increase the plasma concentration of chloramphenicol and busulfan. Increased risk of high anion gap metabolic acidosis with flucloxacillin.
